H Δρ. Ιωάννα Σπυροπούλου είναι Καθηγήτρια της Σχολής Αγρονόμων και Τοπογράφων Μηχανικών – Μηχανικών Γεωπληροφορικής ΕΜΠ. Είναι διπλωματούχος Πολιτικός Μηχανικός του Εθνικού Μετσόβιου Πολυτεχνείου (1992-1997), με μεταπτυχιακό στα Συγκοινωνιακά (MSc in Transport) από το Imperial College London (Ηνωμένο Βασίλειο, 1998) και διδακτορικό στα Συγκοινωνιακά από το University College London (Ηνωμένο Βασίλειο, 2004). Είναι μέλος του ΕΣΤε από το 2010, και έχει περισσότερα από 15 χρόνια εμπειρίας στο αντικείμενο των μεταφορών. Έχει συμμετάσχει σε 15 ερευνητικά έργα σε εθνικό και ευρωπαϊκό επίπεδο. Το συγγραφικό της έργο συμπεριλαμβάνει ένα βιβλίο, 3 κεφαλαία βιβλίων και περισσότερα από 100 άρθρα δημοσιευμένα σε επιστημονικά περιοδικά και πρακτικά επιστημονικών συνεδρίων. Είναι κριτής και μέλος επιστημονικών επιτροπών σε επιστημονικά περιοδικά και συνέδρια, εμπειρογνώμων-αξιολογήτρια ερευνητικών προτάσεων και έργων της Ευρωπαϊκής Ένωσης και άλλων διεθνών και Ελληνικών οργανισμών και μέλος επαγγελματικών και επιστημονικών επιτροπών. Επιπλέον, έχει συμμετάσχει σε πλήθος μελέτων στο αντικείμενο των μεταφορών. Κύρια ερευνητικά της ενδιαφέροντα αποτελούν: η κυκλοφοριακή ροή, η κυκλοφοριακή προσομοίωση, τα ευφυή συστήματα μεταφορών, η συμπεριφορά μετακινούμενου, η βιώσιμη κινητικότητα και η οδική ασφάλεια.
