Rural and Surveying Engineer Diploma of NTUA (1976). Doctorate in Engineering from the University of Hannover, Germany (1981). Faculty member at the School of Rural and Surveying Engineering since 1987. Author or co-author of more than 180 publications in foreign and Greek journals and conferences as well as in Scientific Volumes of the Transportation Research Board USA. Co-author of a book in English published by McGraw-Hill. Scientific officer in 15 Greek and two European projects and national officer in two other European projects and has participated as a member in several national research projects. He is a member of scientific societies in Greece, USA and Germany and an honorary member of the Italian Society of Transportation Engineers. He is a member of the Highway Design Working Group of the German Road and Transport Research Committee (FGSV). He serves as a reviewer for dozens of foreign journals. He has over 40 years of experience in road design and road projects as an engineering consultant and road safety auditor. He has also served as a key member of the drafting of several Road Design Guidelines for the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport. Most recently he has been a consultant to the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport's Road Infrastructure Directorate and the Directorate of Concession Transport Infrastructure.
