New website for the Laboratory of Transportation Engineering
A new website for the Laboratory of Transportation Engineering (LoTE) of the National Technical University of Athens.
Studies, models and teaching for roads, railways and traffic systems at the National Technical University of Athens.
Research and education in Transportation Engineering since 1998.
The staff of the LoTE consists of 3 faculty members, 7 postdoctoral fellows, 12 PhD candidates and 1 associate.
The members of LoTE are particularly active in the fields of the laboratory, through their participation in Greek and international research projects, the writing of scientific articles and participation in international conferences and their participation in scientific and professional committees. In addition, the members of LoTE, responding to the needs of forming an established and recognized physiognomy of an engineer and aiming at the utilization of practical and professional experience in teaching and research, participate as members of teams or independently in studies and constructions of transport infrastructures and systems such as road studies, transport planning studies, traffic studies, road safety audits, etc.
Models and studies for designing transport systems, from city to national scale, so that decisions rest on data.
Studies of roads, tunnels and earthworks, and design guidelines used in practice in Greece and abroad.
Analysing and improving traffic: measurements, simulation and signal timing for smoother, more efficient movement on the road network.
Data, maps and digital tools that make transport smarter, from GIS applications to electromobility.
Technical and economic studies and appraisal of transport projects and services: what they cost, what they deliver and whether they are worth it.
Road safety audits and assessments by certified members of the laboratory, and guidelines that make roads safer.
