Data, maps and digital tools that make transport smarter, from GIS applications to electromobility.

Intelligent transportation systems use data, sensors and software to monitor and improve how transport operates. The laboratory develops tools that collect, analyse and visualise traffic data.

Some of these tools are openly available, such as the Athens Traffic Dashboard and Athens Pop (see the Applications page).

Indicative activities

  • Geographic Information System applications for collecting, managing and visualising traffic data.
  • Consulting on electromobility, with emphasis on urban transport and the siting of charging facilities.
  • Field data collection with sensors, accelerometers and GPS.
